Frida was only indirectly involved. Together with Görel Hanser, for example, she has approved of the use of the photo for the cover of the book, and she answered a few questions through interviewed friends. However, following the crowd funding page on Indiegogo and the downloadable pages, she ultimately did praise the research, and after the publication of Frida Beyond ABBA, she wrote a thank-you letter to the author, in which she called the book “a job well done!”.
There was no involvement on Agnetha’s part in the creation of Agnetha Beyond ABBA.
This has to do, among other things, with the reputation and success of Frida Beyond ABBA. As a result, there was a faster and greater willingness to contribute to the project, both through giving interviews and providing visual material by those involved. Additionally, more promotional material was available due to Agnetha’s greater musical output, as well as a slightly larger budget.
They are indeed expensive books, I admit, but the printing costs are very high, and these are heavy books – they also need to be shipped. You also have to consider how much time was spent on research, writing, and designing over the years. Nevertheless, an attempt was made to keep costs as low as possible. The most important thing was to make the books available to everyone. Both projects are driven by passion, not greed

Instead of the weight of 1.7 kg that we had expected, the books turned out to be heavier. The total weight, including packaging, therefore became more than 2 kg for each book, which led to higher shipping costs.
